It looks like my commenting system has gone nuts.
Where we once had lovely comments from people who think Obama is a space alien, there's now a strange discussion about the British National Party or something.
I'm going to try to get this sorted out, but in the meantime you might want to refrain from commenting. Or go for it, but be warned that there's a possibility your comments will end up on a xenophobic British blog somewhere.
UPDATE: Okay, looks like that's over for the moment at least. It was fun while it lasted!
UPDATE 2: Never mind, it's broken again!
UPDATE 3: Fixed again. Maybe for good this time?

The full text of my new subheading quote thing
I updated my subheading thingy at the top of the page today, and turned it into a Jefferson quote. Since it's a partial quote, I'll provide the full citation for you here.
You can see why I cut it off. As much as I enjoy Jefferson's views on the trinity, it's not a topic I write about much here.
Ridiculing unintelligible propositions, on the other hand, is something I do rather often. Because it's fun.
"Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them; and no man ever had a distinct idea of the trinity. It is the mere Abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus."
-Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to Francis Adrian Van der Kemp. July 30, 1816

That was easy
So, it has now been over a month since I decided to post something every day for a month. How time flies!Anyway, that was pretty easy. Just fill the days you don't feel like writing with goofy videos. No problem.
I'll still probably be posting fairly often, since I'm a creature of habit. But I won't be forcing myself to post every day if I really don't feel like it.
Now I'm taking a rest and trying to recover from the mystery illness that has virtually incapacitated me for the last few days. Disease sucks. So long for now!

Big plans!
Time for an experiment!Actually, three experiments.
First off, I'm going to try to manage a post a day for the next month. Just to see if I can do it. So from now until November 7th there should be at least 30 posts (no doubt of wildly varying quality). That will take us past the election and at least part of the post-election confusion, so there should be no shortage of stuff to write about.
Second, I've put ads on the site. Because if I'm posting that much, I might as well see if I can make some money off it. Chances are I can't, but it's worth a shot. I'll try to keep them unobtrusive, and am still sorting out the layout. If you're using an adblocker it would be really nice if you could whitelist me. If you don't want to, that's fine too. Yes, I know ads suck.
Finally, there's a presidential debate tonight and barring unforeseen circumstances I'm going to liveblog the thing. Like a real blogger! So perhaps you might want to check back whenever the debate starts. Also, I should probably figure out when it starts myself, or this may not go very well.
That is all.
UPDATE: And instantly I have an ad for the endlessly idiotic Answers in Genesis! Goddamn it, Google!

Comments
So, I'm trying a new commenting engine. Please leave a comment on this post and help me test it out. Preferably one letting me know what you think of the thing.
With any luck I can circumvent the whole obnoxious "must have a blogger account" issue while also not descending into the ugly world that is total comment jackassery.
------
UPDATE: Okay I already noticed one small issue. The commenting link may not always appear unless you actually click on the post title and go into its own page.
Also, let me know if you're forced to go through a terrible registration process.
Also also, you can leave an assholey comment if you want so I can test the moderation. Go on, have at me!
------
UPDATE II: Well, I got it set so that it displays the commenting link at least, but it means old comments are either unaccessible or poorly imported (the thing keeps timing out). Argh! Anyway, going to stick with that for the moment. I can bring the old comments back easily enough if I feel the need.
